This policy explains what personal information Sky Track collects through its GPS vehicle tracking service, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It applies to our mobile apps and to the web platform at skygpstrack.com.

Who we are

Sky Track provides GPS vehicle tracking to businesses and vehicle owners in Tanzania. We are the data controller for the information described below. Our contact details are at the end of this policy.

Information we collect

• Account details — your name, company name, email address and phone number. Accounts are created by us when you subscribe; there is no public sign-up.
• Vehicle location data — position, speed, direction and time, reported by the GPS device fitted to your vehicle.
• Vehicle telemetry — ignition state, fuel level, mileage, engine hours and similar readings, where your device reports them.
• Device identifiers — the IMEI and SIM number of your tracking hardware.
• Your phone's location — only while the app is open, and only to show your own position on the map or to navigate to one of your vehicles. We do not track your phone in the background.
• Photos you choose to upload — images of vehicles, tyres or documents that you attach to a vehicle record.
• Usage records — sign-in times and actions taken in the app, kept for security.

Why we collect it

• To show you where your vehicles are and where they have been.
• To send the alerts you set up, such as speeding, unauthorised movement, geofence entry or low fuel.
• To produce the reports you ask for.
• To bill you for the service and to answer your support requests.
• To keep accounts secure and to investigate misuse.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers needed to deliver the service, and only as far as each needs:

• Mapping providers — to draw maps and turn coordinates into street addresses.
• Messaging providers — to deliver your alerts by SMS, WhatsApp, email or push notification.
• Payment providers — to process subscription payments, including mobile money.
• Our platform provider — which operates the servers this service runs on under contract to us, and may not use your data for its own purposes.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

How long we keep it

Location and telemetry history is kept while your account is active, so that you can review past journeys. Account and billing records are kept while your account exists and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, subject to those obligations.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections and is stored on access-controlled servers. Each customer can see only their own vehicles and their own data.

Your rights

You may ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You may also ask us to stop sending you messages. Write to us using the details below and we will respond.

Children

This service is intended for businesses and vehicle owners. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date shown at the top of this page.
